Sunday, January 31, 2016 9:17 PM | Deleted user

From the Artful Parent.

  1. Bowls or Dishes (for making the ice)
  2. A large tray with sides
  3. Salt
  4. Liquid watercolors or food coloring
  5. Droppers or a spoon

The post in the link above actually has really detailed instructions, with helpful hints for how to talk about what is happening with your kids.  Here are just some bullet points:

  1. Freeze water overnight in a variety of bowls of different shapes and sizes.
  2. The next morning, loosen it with some warm water and place the ice on a tray with a lip.
  3. Let the kids pour salt over it and watch it melt.
  4. Pour food coloring on it and watch where the colors go.
